3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is a stabilized form of vitamin C, modified by adding an ethyl group to the molecule of L-ascorbic acid. This gives it increased stability to light, oxygen, and temperature, better penetration into the skin, and high bioactivity. In cosmetics, this ingredient is used for lightening pigmentation, evening out skin tone, reducing signs of aging, increasing collagen synthesis, and protecting against free radicals. It is even suitable for sensitive skin, as it is less irritating than pure vitamin C.
