Description

Cetearyl alcohol is a chemical found in cosmetic products. It is a white waxy substance made from cetyl and stearyl alcohols, fatty alcohols. This fatty alcohol can be found in animals and plants, including coconut and palm oils. They can also be made in a laboratory. Cetearyl alcohol helps prevent creams from separating into oil and liquid. The chemical that helps keep the liquid and oil together is known as an emulsifier. This makes it possible to make the product thicker or increase its ability to foam. Properties: softens, does not irritate, disinfects, softens and stabilizes emulsions, emollient, improves hair structure, facilitates combing. During the research, foreign cosmetologists concluded that fatty alcohols, including cetearyl alcohol, are safe for use in cosmetic products. Also, in clinical studies it was found that cetearyl alcohol has no significant toxicity and is not mutagenic.
