Description
Apigenin is a medicinal plant-derived flavonoid that is typically found in various plant materials and herbs, such as chamomile, parsley, celery, and guava. Apigenin provides numerous beneficial effects for the skin. It is an anti-tumor agent that is particularly useful for preventing and eliminating abnormal skin formations, including various types of moles. It has also been shown to aid in the treatment and prevention of different types of skin cancer and has anti-tumor effects. Additionally, apigenin has a natural "sun-protective" or UV-protective effect. Studies have also shown that apigenin alleviates skin inflammation, making it beneficial for dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects can also help with hair loss. Ultimately, hair loss (especially balding) is associated with stress and inflammation. Both of these issues are effectively addressed by apigenin. Oxidative stress and inflammation lead to fibrosis of the scalp skin, resulting in a shiny scalp and damaged hair follicles that are unable to grow normally. In other words, oxidative stress and inflammation have a serious inhibitory effect on the proper function of hair follicles. However, the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of apigenin can help protect against the harmful effects of inflammation and even help restore the integrity of fibrotic scalp tissue.
