C11-15 Pareth-9 is used in cosmetics and skin care products as an emulsifying, cleansing surface-active ingredient. It is used to prevent product separation into oil and water components. The most interesting property of C11-15 Pareth-9 is its selective conditioning only on those areas of the hair where it is needed. Here, the mechanism of electrostatic attraction is also found. The most damaged areas of the hair surface have an increased negative density of charge, which attracts a larger number of cationic polymer groups to this area.
