Description
Calcium PCA is a calcium salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid. This ingredient combines the mineral calcium with moisturizing PCA, which is a natural component of the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF). It is added to cosmetics to maintain the skin barrier, reduce irritation, moisturize, and even slightly regulate the processes of cell cornification and differentiation - in other words, to affect the quality of the skin's stratum corneum. It is particularly valuable in products for sensitive and mature skin.
