Caprate

Description

Caprate is a derivative of capric acid (a saturated fatty acid with 10 carbons), which is often included in the ingredients as a component in emollients, emulsifiers, or esters (such as Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Decyl Caprate, etc.). It is used in cosmetics to soften the skin, improve the texture of the product, create a non-greasy, smooth consistency, and improve the distribution of the product on the skin. It also provides a barrier function, helping to retain moisture.
