Description
Cetyl alcohol or palmityl alcohol is a single-atom fatty alcohol. Cetyl alcohol acts as an analog of skin fat, forming a thin film on the surface, making the skin more smooth. This component enhances the action of other components of creams, increasing the penetration of the lipid barrier of the epidermis. It is suitable for any type of skin, especially dry and damaged. It is not recommended for skin prone to rosacea. This emulsifier is used in hair care products, giving them shine and a healthy look. Cetyl alcohol provides long-term emulsion stability, regulates viscosity, allows for thickening of the cream without the addition of solid oils, while improving the texture without increasing the fat content. It also increases foam formation.
