Description
Chlorphenesin is a preservative added to cosmetic products to increase their shelf life and prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi. As cosmetics contain water and other ingredients that can become a substrate for the growth of microorganisms, preservatives are important components for preserving the quality and safety of cosmetic products. Chlorphenesin has a wide range of activity and relatively low toxicity. It is effective against various types of bacteria and fungi that can contaminate cosmetic products. However, in some cases, Chlorphenesin can cause irritation to sensitive skin or an allergic reaction. According to EU Regulation 1223/2009 and TR TS 009/2011, it is allowed to be used as a preservative at a maximum permissible concentration of 0.3%.
