Description

Sodium cocoamphoacetate is a surfactant that gently cleanses skin and hair, forming a luxurious foam. It is often found in hair care because it has a conditioning function. Sodium cocoamphoacetate is obtained from the fatty acids of coconut oil. It is a surfactant, a compound with a hydrophobic tail and a hydrophilic head. This means that it attracts oil and water, helping to mix the various ingredients in the formula, as well as sebum and impurities, which are removed from the skin and washed away with water. It is considered milder than sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and is therefore a good alternative for those who want to avoid it. Sodium cocoamphoacetate not only has an excellent cleansing effect, it is also valued for many other properties. As a foam stabilizer, it increases the surface tension of the liquid that surrounds the individual bubbles, resulting in a rich foam that doesn't just disappear. It also conditions the hair and helps creams and shower gels glide smoothly on the skin.
