Collagen

Description

Collagen is a protein that is naturally present in the skin, providing it with elasticity, flexibility, and strength. In cosmetics, hydrolyzed or soluble collagen is used, usually of animal (marine or bovine) origin, less commonly - plant analogues (plant collagen). When applied externally, collagen does not penetrate deep layers of the skin, but acts as a moisturizer, forming a protective film that retains moisture. This helps to soften the skin, give it smoothness, reduce transepidermal water loss, and visually improve texture. Collagen also improves the feeling of the product on the skin and can provide a temporary lifting effect. It is often found in anti-aging products, serums, creams, and masks.
