Description
Dextrin is a water-soluble polysaccharide obtained by hydrolysis of starch (usually corn or potato). It is added to cosmetic products to improve texture, create a light film on the skin, and act as a natural thickener and stabilizer in formulas. Dextrin helps retain moisture, increases adhesion of the product to the skin or hair, promotes even application, and prolongs the action of active ingredients. Thanks to its absorbing properties, Dextrin is often used in dry powder cosmetics, powders, and products for controlling skin oiliness.
