Description
Lauril alcohol, also known as dodecanol, is an organic fatty alcohol. It has a floral scent. It is widely used in emulsion preparation, as it can stabilize the emulsion by incorporating into both the water and oil phases. It is fatty by nature, so when used on skin, it also provides fat and moisture to dry skin. It forms a film on the skin which prevents water evaporation. Thus, when applied to dry skin, it also gets a boost of moisture. It can also be used as an agent to increase viscosity.
