Description
DMDM Hydantoin is a preservative often added to cosmetic products such as shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, creams, etc. Its main function is to prevent the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi in cosmetic products. DMDM Hydantoin is a form of formaldehyde which binds to amino acids in the proteins of microorganisms and ensures the destruction of their cells. This ensures the preservation of the cosmetic product over a long period of time and prevents contamination of the product by microorganisms which can cause diseases or skin irritations.
