Ectoin

Description

Ectoin is a powerful protective molecule produced by extremophilic microorganisms for survival in harsh conditions (such as salty lakes or deserts). In cosmetics, Ectoin acts as a strong anti-stress and protective ingredient, protecting skin cells from harmful effects of UV radiation, pollution, temperature fluctuations, and dehydration. It stabilizes cell membranes, reduces inflammation, moisturizes the skin, restores the barrier, and slows down aging. It is often used in serums, creams for sensitive, dry, mature skin, as well as in post-sun or aggressive procedure products.
