Description
Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin is a derivative of cyclodextrin obtained from corn starch through fermentation and subsequent chemical modification (addition of hydroxypropyl group). In cosmetics, this ingredient is used as a stabilizer, carrier of active substances, and texture enhancer. This component helps to encapsulate active molecules (such as vitamins, aromatic compounds, enzymes), protecting them from oxidation, degradation, and increasing their stability. As a result, the actives retain their effectiveness for a longer period of time and penetrate the skin better. It also reduces the irritating effects of certain ingredients and promotes gradual release of substances. Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin is used in creams, serums, anti-aging products, deodorants, and decorative cosmetics, particularly for controlling odor or stabilizing pigments.
