Description
Hydroxystearic Acid is a fatty acid obtained from the hydrogenation of ricinoleic acid (from castor oil). In cosmetics, it is used as a softening component (emollient), emulsion stabilizer, and conditioner. It improves the texture of the product, makes it easier to apply, softens the skin, and may also have a mild antimicrobial effect. This ingredient is often included in the composition of creams, lipsticks, pencils, deodorants, and shaving products.
