Lactose is a natural carbohydrate found in milk (milk sugar). It is used in cosmetic products for its moisturizing, softening, and exfoliating properties.
In small concentrations, lactose helps to retain moisture in the skin, maintaining its elasticity and softness. Thanks to its gentle acidic properties, it can also gently exfoliate the dead layer, smoothing the skin's microrelief. Sometimes it is used as a carrier for active ingredients in powder or dry formulas.
