Description
Methylpropanediol is a synthetic compound from the family of alcohols. It is a useful component in all skincare and makeup products. It has few skin benefits, but it greatly improves the appearance of creams and emulsions. It is an emulsifier, solvent, modifier and partially a preservative - an attractive list of functions for a cheap ingredient. The main function of methylpropanediol regarding the skin is to deliver active substances. This alcohol softens the skin and makes it permeable to other components, both beneficial and not. What is not able to penetrate the body on its own, easily gets inside with the help of methylpropanediol.
