Oleanolic Acid

Description

Oleanolic Acid is a natural triterpenoid acid obtained from plants (such as olive leaves, ginseng, and apples). In cosmetics, it is valued for its powerful anti-inflammatory, sebum-regulating, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. Oleanolic Acid reduces the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme that stimulates excessive sebum production, making it often used in caring for oily, problematic, and acne-prone skin. It also protects cells from oxidative stress, strengthens the skin's barrier functions, reduces redness and irritation, and slows down the aging process. It is often included in the composition of serums, creams, lotions for the face and scalp.
