Description
Synthetic polymer obtained from ethylene oxide and fatty acids. Emulsifier, PEG, viscosity regulator. During production, it is contaminated with carcinogenic substances such as 1,4-dioxin. In cosmetics, PEG is used as surfactants. Depending on their composition, they are used as solvents, emulsifiers, surfactants, agents that increase fat or moisture content of the skin, as well as detergents. Their advantage lies in their low cost and the ability to be synthesized with properties specifically required for a particular cosmetic product.
