Description
Polyquaternium 37 is one of the most widely used members of the Polyquaternium group (analogous ingredients with different numbers to indicate their chemical makeup) and is an antistatic agent and film former commonly found in hair care products. In a patent filed by a European cosmetics company, it is stated that Polyquaternium 37 (in combination with fatty alcohol and surfactant) provides "conditioning compositions for hair having excellent volumizing effect, especially for thin hair, as well as imparting excellent combability, elasticity, and shine to hair." This tells us that it does not damage hair. Polyquaternium 37 provides a positive charge to neutralize the negative charge often found in shampoos and other hair care products.
