Polysilicone-15 is a sunscreen filter that specializes in protecting against UVB rays (spectrum 290-320 nm). It is able to absorb ultraviolet radiation, preventing skin damage, photoaging, erythema (redness) and sunburn. As it is a silicone molecule, it is compatible with oil and silicone phases, water-resistant and non-irritating to the skin. Polysilicone-15 is often used in sunscreens, day creams, SPF makeup, as well as in products for colored hair - as it protects both the color and structure of the hair from sun exposure.
