Description
Sodium xylenesulfonate is a surface-active substance, thanks to its ability to act as a dispersant or emulsifier which helps the formula to spread more easily and provide effective cleansing. It is classified as a hydrotropic or organic compound which increases the water's ability to dissolve other molecules. Due to the ability of sodium xylenesulfonate to dissolve, it is often added to shampoos as a suspending agent which helps to suspend other ingredients, giving the formula a clear appearance.
