Description
Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacin is a water-soluble vitamin that works with natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten weakened pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, reduce dullness, and strengthen the weakened surface. Nicotinamide also reduces the impact of environmental damage on the skin by enhancing the protection of the skin barrier (its first line of defense), and helps the skin to recover from signs of past damage. Without control and protection, the skin can look older, duller, and less radiant. Nicotinamide helps to renew and restore the skin's surface from moisture loss and dehydration, helping the skin improve its natural production of strengthening ceramides. When ceramides are eventually depleted, the skin becomes vulnerable to a range of problems, from constant dry patches to increasingly heightened sensitivity. The topical application of nicotinamide increases its moisturizing ability, so the skin's surface can better resist moisture loss, leading to periodic dryness.
