Description
PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil is soluble in both water and oil and is traditionally used to emulsify and solubilize oil-in-water formulations. Its foaming properties make it ideal for use in liquid detergents, and its soothing and emollient qualities make it a popular addition to moisturizers and hair care formulations. As a surfactant, hydrogenated castor oil helps to reduce the surface tension between several liquids or between liquids and solids. Properties of hydrogenated castor oil: • Mixing immiscible ingredients; • Gently cleanses and soothes the skin of the face and scalp; • Creates foam in cleaning agents; • Supports product transparency; • Increases the spread of the product on the skin. In addition, it helps remove grease from oils and causes them to be suspended in liquids. This makes it easier to wash them off and increases the popularity of this ingredient in face and body cleansers. As an occlusive agent, hydrogenated castor oil creates a protective moisturizing layer on the surface of the skin, acting as a barrier against the loss of natural moisture.
