Description
Treonine is an amino acid. One of its main functions is to help in the creation of glycine and serine, two other amino acids which are necessary for the production of collagen, elastin, and muscle tissue. Treonine also supports connective tissues and muscles, keeping them strong and elastic. It is considered beneficial in the building of strong bones and dental enamel. It is also an aromatic ingredient, a skin and hair care agent, and an antistatic agent. It is often observed in hair straighteners due to its protein-smoothing properties. Treonine is necessary for the proper utilization of dietary proteins, as well as for supporting the appropriate protein balance in the body's tissues. The production of antibodies in the body is also stimulated by treonine. This in turn helps the functioning of the immune system.
