Description

Triethanolamine is an organic compound composed of ethylene oxide and ammonia. Its main purpose is to balance the overall pH of the product, but it also works as an emulsifier which helps products maintain a more uniform appearance and distribute creams evenly on the skin. This is especially important for cosmetic products so that they do not stick or cake on the skin. In most cases, products containing triethanolamine are not intended for prolonged skin contact and should be washed off daily. Despite its multiple uses, triethanolamine is moderately hazardous to the skin if used for a long period of time.
